About this site

A set of free GPA calculators that run entirely in your browser, with the arithmetic covered by automated tests.

What we do

Every calculator here does one job: turn grades and credit hours into a number you can act on. There is no account to create, no export to unlock and no result held back behind an email form.

The tools cover the calculations students actually need, from a single semester through cumulative and weighted averages to Latin honors thresholds and combining transcripts from several institutions.

How the numbers are checked

The GPA arithmetic is covered by an automated test suite that runs on every change. Those tests pin down the ordinary cases and, more importantly, the ones that are easy to get wrong: withdrawals excluded rather than scored as zero, failed courses keeping their credit hours in the denominator, empty input returning zero instead of an error, and combined GPAs weighted by credits rather than naively averaged.

We also let you choose your grading scale, because a mismatch between the plus/minus, letters-only and 4.3 scales is a common reason a calculated GPA disagrees with a transcript.

Your data stays with you

Calculations run in your browser. Grades and credits are never sent to a server. Entries are saved to your own device so they are still there when you return, and clearing them removes them completely. The full detail is in our privacy policy.

What a GPA cannot tell you

A GPA is a credit-weighted average, nothing more. It does not know which courses were hard, which term you were unwell, or how much you improved. It compresses years of work into two decimal places and loses almost everything in the process.

Admissions readers know this, which is why transcripts, course rigour, essays and recommendations sit alongside the number. Treat the figure as one input to a decision.

Corrections

If a result disagrees with your registrar, we want to know. Send the grades and credits you entered along with the official figure and we will reproduce it. Our contact page has a form, or you can call (307) 454-0600.

We are not affiliated with any school, testing body or accreditation agency, and we cannot access or change anyone’s grades. Your registrar’s calculation is always the official record.
