Privacy policy

The short version

The grades and credits you type into any calculator on this site never leave your device. They are not transmitted to us, and we could not read them if we wanted to. Everything else below is detail.

Calculator data

All GPA calculations run in your browser using JavaScript. Course names, credit hours, grades and GPA figures are processed locally and stored in your browser’s local storage so your work is still there when you come back.

This storage is on your own device. It is not synced, not backed up by us and not visible to us. Selecting Clear all in any calculator deletes it, and clearing your browser’s site data does the same.

Information you choose to send

If you submit the form on our contact page, we receive the name, email address, phone number, school and message you enter. We use it to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation. It is stored in our customer relationship system, which is operated by a third-party provider on our behalf.

We do not sell this information, and we do not add you to a marketing list without asking first.

Analytics and tracking

We use analytics and a marketing tracking script to understand how the site is used and where visitors arrive from. These collect technical information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, referring site, device type and browser, along with an anonymous session identifier.

This is used in aggregate to improve the site. It is never combined with the grades you enter, because those never reach a server in the first place.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses local storage to remember your calculator entries and your grading scale choice. Our analytics and tracking providers may set cookies or use similar identifiers to recognise returning visitors.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The calculators will continue to work, though they will stop remembering your previous entries.

Children

This site is intended for high school and college students and general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it. Email or call us using the details below and we will respond.

Because calculator data never reaches us, such a request can only ever cover information you actively sent us, such as a contact form submission.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
